Her experience with paint still informs the gestures and surfaces of the work. In 2019 she opened a storefront and studio in Homewood, Alabama, where making and showing the pieces could sit together. The pottery passes through making, smoothing, glazing, gold decoration, sanding and a final check, with more than five pairs of hands and eyes involved. The hydrangeas outside her first garage studio became a recurring source of imagery, connecting the flowers of everyday life to the work of her hands.
