Amalesh Bloom Carved Bone Picture Frame by Matr Boomie — 3 × 3 in

The Amalesh Bloom frame surrounds a small square photograph with dimensional hand-carved bone petals. The pale cream carving catches shadows across its raised floral shape, turning a modest picture into a delightful decorative detail.

At 3 × 3 inches, the photograph is intimate in scale, suited to a child's portrait, a favorite snapshot or a miniature family photograph. The frame can stand on its easel or be hung by its D-rings, although its carved form is particularly lovely viewed at close range.

"Little photographs sometimes hold the most affection. I like the way this flower-like carving gives a small picture its own importance, without needing a large or elaborate display."

-Mrs. Mayfair

Maker / Heritage

Founded by Manish Gupta and Ruchi Agrawal, Matr Boomie began in 2006 as Handmade Expressions and adopted its present name in 2013. Based in Austin, the design company works in partnership with artisan communities in India, bringing established craft traditions to objects intended for daily use.

Its picture frames reflect the patient skills of inlay and hand-carving, where small differences in natural material and handwork give each piece its individual character. The work combines practical modern fittings with the knowledge of the craftspeople who make the decorative surrounds.
