Care & Ownership
Shake or brush loose dirt from the bristles. When washing is needed, use lukewarm water and mild soap, rinse, press out excess moisture and hang to air dry at room temperature. Wipe and dry the dustpan and wooden handles; do not leave soaking or standing in water. Replace the brush when its bristles are worn.
Maker / Heritage
Redecker’s first handmade brushes were produced in 1935, after founder Friedrich Redecker learned brushmaking in Soest following the loss of his sight. The family firm in Versmold, Germany, has carried that craft through three generations. Material is chosen for the work: firm plant fibers have a different role from finer brush fills. New designs are first made as workshop prototypes, then handled, tested and revised by family members and employees before entering the collection. That patient attention to shape, fiber and function is what makes a useful cleaning tool worth keeping.
