Available to Ship Icon Available to Ship: 3-7 Business Days

An open-front Beehive salt cellar and pouch of coastal sea salt make a useful pairing for the kitchen. White-glazed stoneware and an exposed clay foot give the cellar a familiar Farmhouse shape, with the salt and pottery presented together in a laurel-marked wooden gift box.

“A gift that finds a working place near the preparation board has lasting appeal for me.”
-Mrs. Mayfair

Care & Ownership

Empty the cellar before washing with mild soap and a soft sponge or in the dishwasher. Dry completely before adding salt; use a clean, dry spoon and keep the salt pouch closed in a dry place. The cellar is microwave- and oven-safe, but remove the salt before heating.

For oven use, keep temperatures at or below 450°F. Avoid the broiler, stovetop and direct flame, and let the pottery warm and cool gradually. Do not move it straight from the freezer or refrigerator into a hot oven, or place a hot piece on a cold or wet surface.

Maker / Heritage

Founded in Woodstock, Vermont, in 2012, Farmhouse Pottery brings a working potter’s eye to everyday housewares. Founder James Zilian’s training in ceramics and years designing for Simon Pearce inform the restrained shapes; English studio pottery and the Japanese idea of wabi-sabi inform an affection for visible process and small variations. The signature Silo forms take their lines from Vermont’s farm silos, pairing white glaze with revealed clay. From that starting point, the collection extends into complementary tools and textiles, chosen to make a useful, tactile whole at home.
