Machine wash on a gentle, cold cycle with mild detergent. Avoid bleach and wringing. Air-dry, smoothing the edges while damp; press gently from the reverse before the fabric is fully dry. Store clean and completely dry, with loose folds rather than a tightly compressed bundle.
Maker / Heritage
Galley & Fen begins with the eye of an interior designer: founder Laurel Newton studied interior design and created the collection around the everyday objects she wanted in a home. The team develops its own designs, drawing on the useful forms of European vintage kitchens rather than simply reproducing an ornamental look. Its work with a family of artisans in India brings handmaking into those designs, with small variations that remain visible in the finished pieces. Gathered textile edges, embroidered botanical details and warm copper or brass give practical objects a presence of their own. The pleasure is in choosing something useful whose smallest details have also been considered.
