Brest Porcelain Bread and Butter Plate by Vista Alegre
Available to Ship: 3-7 Business Days
Brest’s porcelain bread and butter plate concentrates navy-and-gold ornament at the edge of a small white surface. Its leaf-and-scroll border brings the collection’s formal pattern to the side of the place setting.
“I like a small bread plate with a confident border; it makes the edge of the setting feel as considered as the center.”
-Mrs. Mayfair

Maker / Heritage
Founded in Ílhavo, Portugal, in 1824, Vista Alegre brings a living decorative tradition to the table. Its porcelain is glazed, fired and individually checked before decoration; the factory also maintains a specialist hand-painting workshop for selected artistic pieces. Collaborations with designers such as Oscar de la Renta and Sam Baron give that long history fresh expression, from finely drawn botanicals to architectural relief. It is this combination of technical care and imaginative decoration that gives the maker its distinctive range.
