Bright Stripe Hand-Beaded Placemat in Aqua & Lilac by Joanna Buchanan
Available to Ship: 3-7 Business Days
The Bright Stripe Hand-Beaded Placemat in Aqua & Lilac by Joanna Buchanan gives a 15-inch round place setting a confident field of color through glass beadwork rather than printed pattern. Aqua and lilac stripes move across a cotton-backed surface, creating enough variation to work beneath either white dinnerware or plates that borrow one of the colors already present. Hand beaded in India, each piece carries the slight differences inherent to the workmanship, and the beads catch light in a way a flat textile cannot. The palette is lively, but its two principal colors make it surprisingly easy to layer with blue, green, purple, clear glass, or simple metallic accents.
“A lively table needs one confident pattern; the rest can simply behave. I would let this stripe be the color story and choose almost everything above it for usefulness: plain plate, good glass, quiet napkin. The beadwork has already earned the attention.”
