Charlotte Blue placemats give each setting a shaped frame of cotton-blend fabric, picked out with white silk embroidery and a fine dotted border. The blue center leaves room for china to supply the pattern, while the ornamental edge remains visible around it.

Care & Ownership
Blot spills promptly. Hand wash in cold water with a detergent intended for delicate fabrics; do not bleach. Support the embroidery while rinsing, then hang to dry. Use a warm iron as needed, pressing from the reverse over a clean towel so the stitched detail is not flattened. Store clean and fully dry, without tightly creasing the embroidered edge.
Maker / Heritage
Flying Sheep Country grew from the Maitland sisters’ British roots and their lives in Westport, Connecticut, and Sydney. Their eye combines the freely growing patterns of Indian block prints with the more defined outlines of European-style embroidery. The block-printed linens are made with hand-carved wooden blocks by Indian artisans, leaving small variations that belong to the process. In the embroidered designs, shaped edges, dotted borders and fan-like scallops give each place its own frame. Even the name holds a private family reference: childhood drives through the Cotswolds, spotting sheep along the country roads.
