Chinese Zodiac Monkey Porcelain Round Box in Black and Gold by Vista Alegre
Available to Ship: 3-7 Business Days
A gold monkey and botanical details animate the black lid of this Chinese Zodiac porcelain box. Its round covered form makes a small decorative object for a desk, shelf or dressing table.
“I would give this little black-and-gold box a clear patch of surface so the monkey on the lid can be properly noticed.”
-Mrs. Mayfair

Maker / Heritage
Founded in Ílhavo, Portugal, in 1824, Vista Alegre brings a living decorative tradition to the table. Its porcelain is glazed, fired and individually checked before decoration; the factory also maintains a specialist hand-painting workshop for selected artistic pieces. Collaborations with designers such as Oscar de la Renta and Sam Baron give that long history fresh expression, from finely drawn botanicals to architectural relief. It is this combination of technical care and imaginative decoration that gives the maker its distinctive range.
