Copper Colander with Long Handle by Galley & Fen
Available to Ship: 3-7 Business Days
A perforated copper bowl, long handle and side loop give this colander a clear working form. The warm finish makes the tool attractive enough to hang between uses, while the paired handles offer two points of support when rinsing and draining at the sink.
“Two points of support are the detail I look for before lifting a loaded colander. Keep both hands well positioned and let water drain fully before carrying it away from the sink.”
-Mrs. Mayfair

Care & Ownership
Hand wash with mild soap, lukewarm water and a soft cloth or sponge. Rinse thoroughly and dry immediately with a clean, soft towel. Avoid the dishwasher, soaking, scouring pads and abrasive cleaners. Store completely dry, with a soft cloth between pieces where needed to prevent scratches. Keep acidic foods and sauces from direct contact with copper. Rinse and dry promptly after use. Support both handles when the colander is loaded and protect hands from hot surfaces or draining liquid.
Maker / Heritage
Galley & Fen begins with the eye of an interior designer: founder Laurel Newton studied interior design and created the collection around the everyday objects she wanted in a home. The team develops its own designs, drawing on the useful forms of European vintage kitchens rather than simply reproducing an ornamental look. Its work with a family of artisans in India brings handmaking into those designs, with small variations that remain visible in the finished pieces. Gathered textile edges, embroidered botanical details and warm copper or brass give practical objects a presence of their own. The pleasure is in choosing something useful whose smallest details have also been considered.
