Copper Skimmer with Cast Iron Handle by Cuisine Romefort
A shallow, perforated copper head lets liquid drain through this traditional kitchen skimmer. The long cast iron handle gives the utensil an overall reach of approximately 12.2 inches, with a hanging hole at its tip. Its open pattern is useful when lifting suitable foods or drawing foam from a preparation, bringing a specific working tool to a copper cookware collection.
“I value a skimmer for the liquid it leaves behind. The perforated head lets a lifted ingredient drain before it moves to the next vessel, and the hanging hole keeps the tool easy to find when a pot needs attention.”
-Mrs. Mayfair

Care & Ownership
Wash by hand with mild dish soap and a soft sponge after use. Rinse and dry the copper head and cast iron handle thoroughly; do not put in the dishwasher or leave soaking. Keep the utensil dry between uses. Avoid abrasive pads, and use only a food-contact-safe copper polish as directed, rinsing away all residue. Keep bare copper away from acidic preparations such as vinegar, tomato, wine or citrus sauces and from salty brines. Do not leave the utensil standing in food.
Maker / Heritage
Cuisine Romefort grew from Benoît Romefort’s work at the sharpening wheel. Trained in Thiers, France, he spent years sharpening knives for home cooks and professional chefs in his Berlin shop before developing the family brand with his son Marc. That close attention to working tools carries into the cookware: solid copper discs are spun into shape through rotation and pressure in France, giving each vessel a body of copper rather than a decorative copper coating. The collection keeps the traditional distinction between unlined specialist pieces and tin-lined cooking vessels, allowing the tool to be chosen for the way it will be used.
