Encanto Charlotte Cream Enameled Picture Frame by Beatriz Ball - 8 x 10 in.

Cream enamel and a beaded border give the large Charlotte frame a quiet, decorative surround. Designed for an 8-by-10-inch photograph and either vertical or horizontal display, the aluminum-alloy form can anchor a group of personal pictures. Its restrained color allows the photograph to remain the most individual part of the arrangement.

“I would choose a photograph that deserves to be seen from across the room, then let Charlotte's larger border give it space. The beads supply interest close up without making the image compete with a busy pattern.”
-Mrs. Mayfair

Maker / Heritage

Cuban-born designer Beatriz Ball began working with metal artisans outside Mexico City in 1991. Her signature metalware is still made one piece at a time in the brand’s own foundry in Mexico: sand casting gives the forms their character, and successive hand-polishing stages bring out the alloy’s silvery luster. More than twelve pairs of hands take part in the making. The appeal is that combination of expressive shape and useful purpose, with the warmth of handwork and none of silver’s routine tarnish polishing.

In the frames, the same attention to a shaped edge gives a personal photograph a considered setting. The metal surround is decorative in its own right without needing to dominate the image.
