Encanto Jason Cream Enameled Picture Frame by Beatriz Ball - 5 x 7 in.

Cream enamel and a gold-tone rim give Jason a quiet, tailored outline around a 5-by-7-inch photograph. The rectangular aluminum-alloy frame can be displayed vertically or horizontally, allowing the image to determine its orientation. Its broad border is a useful bridge between a personal photograph and a more formally arranged surface.

“A photograph deserves a place where it can actually be enjoyed. I would turn Jason to suit the picture and set it where a seated person can see it naturally, rather than choose the position only for height.”
-Mrs. Mayfair

Maker / Heritage

Cuban-born designer Beatriz Ball began working with metal artisans outside Mexico City in 1991. Her signature metalware is still made one piece at a time in the brand’s own foundry in Mexico: sand casting gives the forms their character, and successive hand-polishing stages bring out the alloy’s silvery luster. More than twelve pairs of hands take part in the making. The appeal is that combination of expressive shape and useful purpose, with the warmth of handwork and none of silver’s routine tarnish polishing.

In the frames, the same attention to a shaped edge gives a personal photograph a considered setting. The metal surround is decorative in its own right without needing to dominate the image.
