Figueirinha pairs a fig-scented candle with a hand-formed ceramic vessel made in a traditional family pottery in Portugal. The canary glaze and softly waved surface preserve evidence of the potter’s hand, so the vessel remains useful and decorative after the approximately 36-hour candle has been burned.
The wax is a blend of vegetable and mineral waxes, while the ceramic form is intended to continue its life as a small container once properly cleaned.

Once the candle is completely spent and the remaining wax has been safely removed, I hand wash the ceramic vessel before giving it another household use.
