Giftables Jason Polished Metal Vertical Picture Frame by Beatriz Ball - 5 x 7 in.

The Giftables Jason frame gives a vertical 5-by-7-inch photograph a clean, substantial surround in polished aluminum alloy. Its restrained rectangular shape keeps attention on the image while the silver-colored metal reflects the room's light. The smaller overall format makes it an easy addition to a bedside table or an intimate group of family photographs.

“I want a framed portrait to feel settled on its surface, not squeezed between taller objects. Jason's simple outline leaves the expression in the photograph as the most interesting detail in the group.”

Maker / Heritage

Cuban-born designer Beatriz Ball began working with metal artisans outside Mexico City in 1991. Her signature metalware is still made one piece at a time in the brand’s own foundry in Mexico: sand casting gives the forms their character, and successive hand-polishing stages bring out the alloy’s silvery luster. More than twelve pairs of hands take part in the making. The appeal is that combination of expressive shape and useful purpose, with the warmth of handwork and none of silver’s routine tarnish polishing.

In the frames, the same attention to a shaped edge gives a personal photograph a considered setting. The metal surround is decorative in its own right without needing to dominate the image.
