Small green and blue checks give this gingham linen cover a finely patterned surface. The fabric is woven in Lithuania and sewn into the cover in the United States, with the pattern on both sides. An invisible zipper and serged edges keep the finish neat. The close grid can sit beside a broader floral or a plain woven textile, bringing more than one cool color into the arrangement without a large motif.

“I look for a small check when several larger patterns already share a room. This green and blue gingham can repeat their colors at a different scale, helping the group feel related without making it uniform.”
-Mrs. Mayfair

Care & Ownership

Spot clean rather than washing the whole cover. Blot a fresh spill promptly with a clean white cloth. Test a hidden area before treating a mark, then use a barely damp cloth and a little mild soap if needed; avoid rubbing or saturating the fabric. Blot away moisture and let the treated area air-dry fully in the shade before replacing the insert. Do not soak, bleach or tumble-dry. Keep strong direct sunlight from falling on the same area continuously.

Remove and replace the insert gently, supporting the zipper opening rather than forcing a folded insert against its ends. Close the zipper before storing a clean, dry cover, and fold it loosely away from damp and direct light.

Maker / Heritage

Danielle Oakey began her pillow shop in a two-bedroom apartment, building the collection around her interest in fabrics and the combinations they can make. Her approach considers the relationship between covers: the scale of a floral, the clear line of a stripe, and the texture of a weave. The collection brings together hand-block printed fabrics from India and woven textiles, including Lithuanian linens. Interior designers also work with the shop through its trade program. That attention to combining rather than matching gives the covers their usefulness: individual patterns can keep their own character while still belonging in the same room.
