The J138 folding chair combines a substantial oak frame with the softer appearance of linen, producing a movable seat with a very different character from the fixed dining chairs in the FDB collection. Designed by Erik Ole Jørgensen in 1978, the form allows a chair to be brought into use as a room changes. The wood's natural finish gives definition to the folding structure, while the fabric introduces a quieter, domestic texture.
