The Lightweight Wool Comforter uses the same Climate Beneficial™ wool and certified organic cotton as Frankenmuth Woolen Mill’s regular-weight comforter, with less wool fill for warmer rooms, warmer months, and sleepers who prefer less weight. The batting is hand-tied approximately every nine inches to keep it evenly placed, and wool’s natural breathability and moisture management help the bed remain comfortable as temperatures change. It works inside a duvet cover or on its own and gives a summer bed the substance of proper bedding without the heaviness of a winter layer.

“A bed should not become bare simply because July arrives. The better answer is a lighter natural layer that still makes it feel complete. This comforter belongs in a warm guest room, a summer house, or with anyone who sleeps best under something light but substantial.”
-Mrs. Mayfair

Care & Ownership

Hand wash in lukewarm or cold water with a mild wool-safe detergent. Do not agitate. Line dry or air dry completely; do not machine wash, tumble dry, or apply heat. For professional laundering, Frankenmuth Woolen Mill accepts its bedding back for expert care.

Maker / Heritage

Frankenmuth Woolen Mill has made wool bedding since 1894. Today the historic American mill still washes and air-dries its Climate Beneficial™ wool, cards it on century-old machinery, and finishes bedding by hand between layers of certified organic cotton. More than a century of practice is visible in the construction itself: natural fibers, hand-tied batting, and a process designed to keep useful bedding in service for years.
