Mabel Cow Pewter Creamer by Vagabond House

Sale price$110.00

Mabel the cow becomes a small pewter creamer, with her tail serving as the handle and her mouth as the pouring opening. A floral wreath around the neck brings a gentle decorative touch to the detailed animal form.

“The tail becoming a handle is the clever detail for me. It allows the cow to remain a convincing little figure while giving her a proper job at coffee time.”
-Mrs. Mayfair

Care & Ownership

Hand wash with mild dish soap, warm water and a soft cloth or sponge. Rinse and dry immediately, reaching gently into sculpted details. Avoid abrasive pads, harsh cleaners and silver polish; the maker's solid pewter does not need routine tarnish polishing. Keep out of the dishwasher, oven and microwave, and away from direct cooking heat.

Maker / Heritage

Vagabond House began in 1986 by turning antique silver tableware into jewelry and table accents. The Haas and Hardy families focused the company on tableware after acquiring it in 2004, and three generations now contribute to the Sierra Madre, California business. Its designers look closely at nature, old architecture and antiques, then work with carvers, artisans and fabricators to bring those ideas into useful objects. In the pewter work, details such as the veins of an oak leaf or the textured skin of a pear are carved and polished into the form. That attention to small, recognizable things gives the pieces much of their character at the table.
