Maile Reclaimed Elm Nightstand with Drawer from Canggu Home
Special Order: This is a special-order item with an estimated lead time of 4 to 8 weeks. As it is prepared exclusively for you, it is considered final sale and cannot be returned.
A single drawer and open lower compartment give Maile its straightforward bedside arrangement. Reclaimed elm brings warmth through the grain, while an iron ring pull adds one small hardware detail to the otherwise plain front.
The 20-inch width and 16-inch depth create a compact surface for a lamp and a few evening essentials. At 24 inches high, it is worth comparing the top with the mattress rather than choosing by width alone.
“Bedside storage should be easy to use when the room is quiet and the light is low. I would keep the drawer for smaller necessities and the open compartment for one or two things that can be reached without searching.”
-Mrs. Mayfair

Care & Ownership
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth, working gently along the grain. Blot spills immediately and dry the surface fully; use coasters and protective mats beneath hot, cold or wet objects. Avoid harsh cleaners, abrasive pads and prolonged dampness. Keep the piece away from direct sunlight, heaters and strong air vents. Solid wood responds to changes in humidity, so small changes in grain and color are part of its character. Lift furniture when moving it rather than dragging the legs across the floor. Dust inside drawers, shelves and door edges periodically, keeping the interiors dry and avoiding overloading small compartments.
Maker / Heritage
Canggu Home grew from a family’s search for rooms with a quieter, more natural character. A visit to artisan workshops in Canggu, Bali, inspired the family’s approach in 2021, followed by direct sourcing from makers in China, Indonesia and Africa. The business is a curator: its interest is in material, workmanship and the way a piece belongs in a room. Visible grain, hand-worked irregularity and plainly expressed forms are part of that choice, with Japanese and Scandinavian influences brought together through texture rather than elaborate decoration.
