Traditional 100% wool blankets benefit from infrequent cleaning. Between cleanings, air the blanket in good circulation and use a soft-bristle garment brush along the nap to lift dust and restore the surface. Professional dry cleaning is the conservative recommendation for full cleaning, consistent with comparable traditional wool blankets from established American mills. Avoid hot water, agitation, tumble drying, and direct heat, which can shrink or felt wool. Store only when completely clean and dry.

Chatham’s American woolen history reaches back to Alexander Chatham’s mill in 1877, with the first blanket specifically labeled a Chatham Blanket appearing in 1893.
