Simple Kitchen Stoneware Sponge Holder by Farmhouse Pottery
A small opening between two curved stoneware walls gives a sponge a place to stand beside the sink. White glaze and the exposed clay foot bring Farmhouse Pottery’s tabletop character to a hardworking corner, keeping the cleaning tool lifted rather than lying flat on the counter.
“A sponge standing where air can reach it makes sense to me, with its holder emptied and cleaned during washing up.”
-Mrs. Mayfair

Maker / Heritage
Founded in Woodstock, Vermont, in 2012, Farmhouse Pottery brings a working potter’s eye to everyday housewares. Founder James Zilian’s training in ceramics and years designing for Simon Pearce inform the restrained shapes; English studio pottery and the Japanese idea of wabi-sabi inform an affection for visible process and small variations. The signature Silo forms take their lines from Vermont’s farm silos, pairing white glaze with revealed clay. From that starting point, the collection extends into complementary tools and textiles, chosen to make a useful, tactile whole at home.
