Vida Bamboo White and Natural Melamine Dinner Plates by Beatriz Ball - Set of 4
Available to Ship: 3-7 Business Days
White melamine and a natural-colored bamboo border give these 11-inch Vida dinner plates a fresh, settled look. Their generous centers leave room for a full meal, while the shaped rim brings a decorative note to a plain tablecloth. The set of four belongs to the collection developed with illustrator August Wren for meals indoors and out.
“I think an outdoor supper deserves the same care as a meal in the dining room. A proper dinner plate, a well-folded napkin and enough room at each place make the setting welcoming before anything is served.”
-Mrs. Mayfair

Care & Ownership
Wash on the top rack of the dishwasher, or by hand with mild detergent and a soft sponge. Presoak dried food in warm water so it lifts without hard scrubbing; avoid abrasive pads and cleaners. Do not use in an oven or microwave. Dry before stacking, and place pieces gently together to protect the modeled rims.
Maker / Heritage
Cuban-born designer Beatriz Ball began working with metal artisans outside Mexico City in 1991. Her signature metalware is still made one piece at a time in the brand’s own foundry in Mexico: sand casting gives the forms their character, and successive hand-polishing stages bring out the alloy’s silvery luster. More than twelve pairs of hands take part in the making. The appeal is that combination of expressive shape and useful purpose, with the warmth of handwork and none of silver’s routine tarnish polishing.
For Vida Bamboo, Ball collaborated with illustrator August Wren, translating the familiar rhythm of bamboo canes into a lighthearted border for everyday melamine.
