Vida Bloom White Melamine Wine Bucket by Beatriz Ball

Bloom's petal-like movement gives this white melamine wine bucket an organic, sculptural outline. Created in collaboration with Louisiana ceramicist Gretchen Murchison, the generous form provides a place for ice around bottles while adding a decorative note to the drinks table. Its broad footprint is intended for a setting with room to reach the contents comfortably.

“I would give this bucket a proper place on the drinks table, with a cloth close by for the bottle. The flower-like outline supplies the decoration; a clear approach makes the generosity practical.”
-Mrs. Mayfair

Care & Ownership

Wash on the top rack of the dishwasher, or by hand with mild detergent and a soft sponge. Presoak dried food in warm water so it lifts without hard scrubbing; avoid abrasive pads and cleaners. Do not use in an oven or microwave. Dry before stacking, and place pieces gently together to protect the modeled rims.

Maker / Heritage

Cuban-born designer Beatriz Ball began working with metal artisans outside Mexico City in 1991. Her signature metalware is still made one piece at a time in the brand’s own foundry in Mexico: sand casting gives the forms their character, and successive hand-polishing stages bring out the alloy’s silvery luster. More than twelve pairs of hands take part in the making. The appeal is that combination of expressive shape and useful purpose, with the warmth of handwork and none of silver’s routine tarnish polishing.

Bloom grew from Ball’s collaboration with Louisiana ceramicist Gretchen Murchison. Its rippling, petal-like outlines bring the movement of a ceramic form to practical serving pieces.
