Care & Ownership
Handwash only with mild detergent, lukewarm water and a soft cloth or sponge. Rinse and dry with a soft towel rather than leaving droplets to mark the surface. Avoid abrasive pads, scouring powders and solvent cleaners. Lift the tray clear of rough surfaces and store without sharp objects resting against the acrylic.
Maker / Heritage
Cuban-born designer Beatriz Ball began working with metal artisans outside Mexico City in 1991. Her signature metalware is still made one piece at a time in the brand’s own foundry in Mexico: sand casting gives the forms their character, and successive hand-polishing stages bring out the alloy’s silvery luster. More than twelve pairs of hands take part in the making. The appeal is that combination of expressive shape and useful purpose, with the warmth of handwork and none of silver’s routine tarnish polishing.
