Wales Pewter-Handle Carving Knife and Fork by Vagabond House - 2-Piece Set

Sale price$200.00
Available to Ship Icon Available to Ship: 3-7 Business Days

A carving knife and matching two-prong fork share the banded pewter grips of the Wales pattern. Stainless steel working ends bring the pair together for carving, with the rounded handle details giving the serving tools a consistent profile.

“Carving starts with the arrangement of board, platter and tools. I leave room for the fork to steady the joint without crowding the knife's path.”
-Mrs. Mayfair

Care & Ownership

Hand wash with mild dish soap, warm water and a soft cloth or sponge. Rinse and dry immediately, reaching gently into sculpted details. Avoid abrasive pads, harsh cleaners and silver polish; the maker's solid pewter does not need routine tarnish polishing. Keep out of the dishwasher, oven and microwave, and away from direct cooking heat. Wash knives and forks individually, keeping sharp edges pointed away from hands. Dry blades carefully and store with their edges protected.

Maker / Heritage

Vagabond House began in 1986 by turning antique silver tableware into jewelry and table accents. The Haas and Hardy families focused the company on tableware after acquiring it in 2004, and three generations now contribute to the Sierra Madre, California business. Its designers look closely at nature, old architecture and antiques, then work with carvers, artisans and fabricators to bring those ideas into useful objects. In the pewter work, details such as the veins of an oak leaf or the textured skin of a pear are carved and polished into the form. That attention to small, recognizable things gives the pieces much of their character at the table.
