White Hydrangea Petite Gold-Luster Stoneware Valet Tray by Susan Gordon Pottery
Available to Ship: 3-7 Business Days
White hydrangea flowers and green leaves form a small central bouquet on this Petite valet tray. The narrow glazed-stoneware shape and 22K gold-luster edge give the quiet painting a defined place among everyday jewelry or small personal belongings.
“White-painted flowers have a quiet presence that appeals to me near a bedside lamp. The narrow tray leaves room for a book while gathering the small things that otherwise wander across the table.”
-Mrs. Mayfair

Maker / Heritage
Susan Gordon began her pottery business in a basement studio in 2013, bringing a background in ceramic sculpture and abstract painting to practical household objects. Her experience with paint still informs the gestures and surfaces of the work. In 2019 she opened a storefront and studio in Homewood, Alabama, where making and showing the pieces could sit together. The pottery passes through making, smoothing, glazing, gold decoration, sanding and a final check, with more than five pairs of hands and eyes involved. The hydrangeas outside her first garage studio became a recurring source of imagery, connecting the flowers of everyday life to the work of her hands.
