A good comforter is largely invisible once the bed is made, yet it determines much of how the bed actually feels. Frankenmuth Woolen Mill fills this one with Climate Beneficial™ wool and encloses it in certified organic cotton, then hand-ties the batting approximately every nine inches so the filling remains evenly distributed. Wool breathes, manages moisture, and helps moderate temperature across the seasons, giving the comforter substance without the sealed-in feeling of many synthetic fills. It may be used inside a duvet cover or on its own, and each size is filled to a specified wool weight.

“The parts of a bed no one sees deserve just as much attention as the linen on top. Begin with a beautifully made natural comforter, then change the duvet cover over the years as the room evolves. What remains underneath should be dependable. A well-kept bed should have good bones.”
-Mrs. Mayfair

Care & Ownership

Hand wash in lukewarm or cold water with a mild wool-safe detergent. Do not agitate. Line dry or air dry completely; do not machine wash, tumble dry, or apply heat. For professional laundering, Frankenmuth Woolen Mill accepts its bedding back for expert care.

Maker / Heritage

Frankenmuth Woolen Mill has made wool bedding since 1894. Today the historic American mill still washes and air-dries its Climate Beneficial™ wool, cards it on century-old machinery, and finishes bedding by hand between layers of certified organic cotton. More than a century of practice is visible in the construction itself: natural fibers, hand-tied batting, and a process designed to keep useful bedding in service for years.
