Encanto Amelia Camellia Enameled Flower Picture Frame by Beatriz Ball - 4 in.

Camellia enamel brings a blush-pink color to Amelia's flower-shaped frame. Gold-tone detail follows the aluminum-alloy petals, surrounding the nominal four-inch photograph format. Its broad, scalloped surround is decorative enough to stand on a small clear surface rather than disappear into a crowded group of frames.

“A tiny photograph can carry a great deal of feeling. To me, the loveliest use for this pink flower is a candid picture with a clear central subject, given enough space that both the image and the petals can be enjoyed.”
-Mrs. Mayfair

Maker / Heritage

Cuban-born designer Beatriz Ball began working with metal artisans outside Mexico City in 1991. Her signature metalware is still made one piece at a time in the brand’s own foundry in Mexico: sand casting gives the forms their character, and successive hand-polishing stages bring out the alloy’s silvery luster. More than twelve pairs of hands take part in the making. The appeal is that combination of expressive shape and useful purpose, with the warmth of handwork and none of silver’s routine tarnish polishing.

In the frames, the same attention to a shaped edge gives a personal photograph a considered setting. The metal surround is decorative in its own right without needing to dominate the image.
