Petal Periwinkle Hand-Painted Glass Vase by Beatriz Ball - Large

A cool periwinkle-blue finish gives the large Petal vase a clear note of color beneath its petal-like opening. Each glass vessel is handmade and painted from the inside, with small variations that make the finish individual. The flared rim gives flowers and foliage room to spread rather than hold them in a tight, upright bunch.

Care & Ownership

Handwash gently with mild detergent, lukewarm water and a soft sponge; rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners and sudden changes in temperature. Take particular care of the painted interior when rinsing and changing flowers. Refresh flower water regularly and clean the vase between arrangements so residue does not build up.

Maker / Heritage

Cuban-born designer Beatriz Ball began working with metal artisans outside Mexico City in 1991. Her signature metalware is still made one piece at a time in the brand’s own foundry in Mexico: sand casting gives the forms their character, and successive hand-polishing stages bring out the alloy’s silvery luster. More than twelve pairs of hands take part in the making. The appeal is that combination of expressive shape and useful purpose, with the warmth of handwork and none of silver’s routine tarnish polishing.

Petal’s softly flaring openings are designed to let flowers lean naturally into the shape of the vase. The glass brings the brand’s flowing outlines to a different material.
