Strawberry Glass Jam Jar with Pewter Lid and Spoon by Vagabond House

Pewter strawberries and leaves decorate the lid and spoon of this clear glass jam jar. The rounded vessel keeps the preserve in view, while a dedicated spoon gives the fruit motif a useful role in breakfast or tea service.

“When two preserves are offered, I give each its own spoon. The strawberry detail can then be both decoration and a helpful clue to the jar's contents.”
-Mrs. Mayfair

Maker / Heritage

Vagabond House began in 1986 by turning antique silver tableware into jewelry and table accents. The Haas and Hardy families focused the company on tableware after acquiring it in 2004, and three generations now contribute to the Sierra Madre, California business. Its designers look closely at nature, old architecture and antiques, then work with carvers, artisans and fabricators to bring those ideas into useful objects. In the pewter work, details such as the veins of an oak leaf or the textured skin of a pear are carved and polished into the form. That attention to small, recognizable things gives the pieces much of their character at the table.
