Studio Pippa Red and White Linen Placemats by Flying Sheep Country - Set of 4
Available to Ship: 3-7 Business Days
Red and White Studio Pippa placemats make a vivid linen frame beneath the plate, with fan-shaped embroidery around the edge. The set of four brings a distinct circular outline and a warm red ground to floral, white or festive china.
“White stitching gives me a useful connection to pale china on this strong red. One plate can be enough; adding a large charger would hide the fan-shaped border that makes the mat interesting.”
-Mrs. Mayfair

Care & Ownership
Hand wash in cold water with a detergent for delicate fabrics. Do not wring, bleach or use fabric softener. Ease out excess water with a clean towel and dry flat, gently reshaping the edge. Press while the linen is still slightly damp, working from the reverse over a clean padded towel and keeping the iron moving. Use a pressing cloth over the embroidery. Store fully dry, with the decorated edge folded loosely rather than sharply creased.
Maker / Heritage
Flying Sheep Country grew from the Maitland sisters’ British roots and their lives in Westport, Connecticut, and Sydney. Their eye combines the freely growing patterns of Indian block prints with the more defined outlines of European-style embroidery. The block-printed linens are made with hand-carved wooden blocks by Indian artisans, leaving small variations that belong to the process. In the embroidered designs, shaped edges, dotted borders and fan-like scallops give each place its own frame. Even the name holds a private family reference: childhood drives through the Cotswolds, spotting sheep along the country roads.
