Vida Bamboo White and Natural Melamine Dip Serving Bowl by Beatriz Ball - Mini

The mini Vida Bamboo bowl puts a small serving of dip, nuts or a condiment within a natural-colored bamboo border. Its five-inch white melamine form is easy to add beside a larger platter without crowding the table. The design belongs to Beatriz Ball's collaboration with illustrator August Wren for practical indoor and outdoor serving.

“I prefer separate little bowls when the accompaniments are different. Each sauce or garnish has its own clear place, and the bamboo rim gives a very small serving the same consideration as the larger dishes.”
-Mrs. Mayfair

Care & Ownership

Wash on the top rack of the dishwasher, or by hand with mild detergent and a soft sponge. Presoak dried food in warm water so it lifts without hard scrubbing; avoid abrasive pads and cleaners. Do not use in an oven or microwave. Dry before stacking, and place pieces gently together to protect the modeled rims.

Maker / Heritage

Cuban-born designer Beatriz Ball began working with metal artisans outside Mexico City in 1991. Her signature metalware is still made one piece at a time in the brand’s own foundry in Mexico: sand casting gives the forms their character, and successive hand-polishing stages bring out the alloy’s silvery luster. More than twelve pairs of hands take part in the making. The appeal is that combination of expressive shape and useful purpose, with the warmth of handwork and none of silver’s routine tarnish polishing.

For Vida Bamboo, Ball collaborated with illustrator August Wren, translating the familiar rhythm of bamboo canes into a lighthearted border for everyday melamine.
