Vida Vienna White Melamine Serving Bowl by Beatriz Ball - Medium

Vienna's swirling flutes give this white melamine serving bowl a sculptural surface without adding color or printed pattern. The medium size is broad enough for salads and shared side dishes, with a 4.5-inch height that gives the contents a defined place. Its melamine construction makes the form practical for meals that move between the kitchen, dining room and terrace.

“Texture can do as much for a white table as color. I like the way Vienna's fluting gives a plain serving bowl interest at close quarters, while leaving the meal itself as the brightest part of the arrangement.”

Care & Ownership

Wash on the top rack of the dishwasher, or by hand with mild detergent and a soft sponge. Presoak dried food in warm water so it lifts without hard scrubbing; avoid abrasive pads and cleaners. Do not use in an oven or microwave. Dry before stacking, and place pieces gently together to protect the modeled rims.

Maker / Heritage

Cuban-born designer Beatriz Ball began working with metal artisans outside Mexico City in 1991. Her signature metalware is still made one piece at a time in the brand’s own foundry in Mexico: sand casting gives the forms their character, and successive hand-polishing stages bring out the alloy’s silvery luster. More than twelve pairs of hands take part in the making. The appeal is that combination of expressive shape and useful purpose, with the warmth of handwork and none of silver’s routine tarnish polishing.

The Vida collection carries that attention to serving shapes into melamine, with sculptural rims and generous forms made for relaxed meals indoors and out.
